Partexia

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Partexia collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Overview

Partexia is a subscription app for automotive locksmiths. You enter or scan a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), or pick a make, model and year, and the app returns OEM key, fob and transponder part data with photos.

The app and the partexia.com website are operated by Technologie Partexia Technology Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation (“Partexia,” “we,” “us”). We collect only what we need to run the service. We do not show ads, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

Account information you give us at sign-up

To create an account we require your first name, last name, email address, a password, and your company or business name. The password is stored only as a cryptographic hash by our authentication provider; we never see or store it in plain text.

You can optionally add your phone number and your location - country, state or province, and city. You type or select that location yourself. The app does not use device GPS and never asks for location permission.

We verify your email address by sending a six-digit one-time code to it.

Customer contact record

When you confirm your email address at sign-up, we send your name, email address, phone number (if you gave one) and company name to a service provider we use to manage customer relationships and contact you about Partexia. When you first subscribe, we also send the plan you chose and the store you bought it from. Nothing about your lookups or vehicles is sent.

Lookup history

When you use the app we record the VINs you look up and the make/model/year searches you run, along with the vehicle each search resolved to and a timestamp. This is what powers the History screen and keeps your history in sync if you sign in on another device. A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person.

Part reports

If you report a problem with a part result, we store the report you submitted so we can review and correct our data.

Subscription information

Subscriptions are purchased through Google Play on Android and through the App Store on iPhone. We store your subscription state - whether the account is entitled, which plan you are on, and when it expires - as reported to us by the store through RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details.

Session and device information

One Partexia account may be signed in on one device at a time. To enforce that, we store the identifier of the currently active session.

Diagnostics

The app sends crash and error reports to Sentry so we can find and fix bugs. A report contains the stack trace, your device model, operating system version, app version, and an internal user id. It does not contain your email address, phone number, or other directly identifying details.

Camera and barcode scanning

The app uses the camera only to scan the VIN barcode on the vehicle’s door-jamb sticker. Those images are processed on your device. They are not stored and never leave your phone.

The barcode reading is done on your device by Google ML Kit. ML Kit sends Google limited usage and diagnostic information about the scanner itself - such as device and app details, performance metrics, error codes and a per-installation identifier - which Google uses for diagnostics and usage analytics. It does not send the camera images or the VINs you scan.

Website waitlist

If you join our Android waitlist on partexia.com, we collect the email address you provide, your first and last name if you choose to enter them, and a record of the consent you gave and when. We use this only to email you about the Partexia launch and early access. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we do not share your address with third parties for their own marketing.

Website analytics

When you visit partexia.com, we use PostHog to see how the website is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive (the referring site or campaign link), which links and buttons are clicked - including the App Store and Google Play badges - and general details such as browser, device type and approximate location derived from your IP address. PostHog also records sessions on the website so we can see where pages work or confuse people. Anything typed into a form field is masked in those recordings and never captured. A cookie keeps the visits from one browser together. We do not use this to identify you, and it covers only the website, not the app.

How we use information

  • To create and secure your account and verify your email address.
  • To run VIN decoding and OEM part lookups and return results.
  • To keep your lookup history and sync it to your account.
  • To check and manage your subscription entitlement.
  • To keep a record of our customers and contact you about Partexia.
  • To enforce the one-active-device-per-account rule.
  • To review part reports and correct our data.
  • To diagnose crashes and errors and improve reliability.
  • To understand how people use partexia.com, so we can fix pages that do not work and improve the ones that do.
  • To respond to your support requests.
  • To send launch and early-access updates to people who joined the waitlist, with their consent.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles about you for anyone else’s purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. The app stores sell and bill your subscription:

  • Google - sells and bills the subscription through Google Play on Android and handles refunds. Google also provides ML Kit, the on-device barcode scanner described above. Google’s handling of your purchase and of ML Kit’s usage information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Apple - sells and bills the subscription through the App Store on iPhone and handles refunds. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy.

Otherwise we share personal information only with the service providers that make Partexia work, each processing data on our behalf under an agreement with us:

  • RevenueCat - processes Google Play and App Store purchase receipts for us. It receives an anonymous app user id and purchase, renewal and refund events, and tells us whether your account is entitled.
  • Supabase - hosts our database and authentication. Your account, lookup history and part reports are stored there, in the United States region of our project.
  • Sentry - receives the crash and error reports described above.
  • PostHog - receives the website analytics and session recordings described above, and stores them in the United States.
  • Resend - sends our transactional email, including your six-digit verification code and our welcome and subscription confirmation emails, on our behalf.
  • Our customer-relationship service provider - holds the customer contact record described above, so we can manage our customer relationships and contact you about Partexia.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity of the service.

Our database and most of these providers are located in the United States, so information collected in Canada, Mexico or elsewhere is stored and processed outside your country, including in the United States, and may be accessible to authorities there under applicable law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account data, lookup history and part reports for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.

You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Account → Manage account → Delete account. That permanently deletes your authentication account, your profile, your lookup history, your part reports, and your subscription status and device session as stored by Partexia. It cannot be undone.

If you would rather we did it for you, email support@partexia.com from your account address and we will delete your account and its data within 30 days. Our account deletion page has the step-by-step instructions.

Deleting your Partexia account does not cancel your subscription. The store keeps billing you until you cancel it yourself, so cancel first, then delete the account:

  • Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Partexia → Cancel subscription.
  • iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → Partexia → Cancel Subscription.

Some information is kept after your account is deleted:

  • Purchase records. Google and Apple keep the record of your purchases under their own policies, and RevenueCat keeps the purchase and renewal history it received from the store, linked to an anonymous app user id rather than your name or email, so purchases and refunds can be accounted for.
  • Customer contact record. Deleting your account in the app does not remove the contact record held by our customer-relationship service provider. Email support@partexia.com and we will remove it. If you ask us to delete your account by email, we remove it as part of the same request.
  • Crash reports. Reports sent before you deleted your account stay with Sentry until they expire and are deleted automatically.

Security

All traffic between the app, the website and our servers is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored only as hashes, never in plain text. Your records are scoped to your own account, and only one device can hold an active session for an account at a time. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

Your rights

You can see and change your name, company, phone number and location in the app at any time, and you can delete your account and its data yourself as described above. You can also ask us at any time to stop contacting you or to remove your customer contact record. For anything else, email support@partexia.com and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows.

We are a Canadian company, so our handling of personal information is subject to Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Quebec’s Law 25. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to withdraw consent, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

If you live in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law - such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas or Virginia - you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, so there is nothing for you to opt out of on those grounds.

Children

Partexia is a professional tool for a trade business. It is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for a significant change, notify you in the app.
